Seit 2011 bin ich am Deutschen Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR), Institut für Robotik und Mechatronik, als Wissenschaftler tätig. Seit 2016 bin ich Leiter des Rollin' Justin-Teams. Zusätzlich habe ich 2017 die Leitung der Gruppe Semantische Planung übernommen. Seit 2020 leite ich die Gruppe für Fehlertolerante Autonomiearchitekturen, in der auch meine Young Investigator Group angesiedelt ist. Meine aktuellen Forschungsinteressen umfassen semantische Zustandsinferenz, ausfallsichere kognitive Architekturen und Fehlerbehandlung in der Robotermanipulation. Damit verfolge ich die Vision, dass zukünftige Roboter nicht mehr nur Werkzeuge, sondern intelligente Kollegen für den Weltraum und die Gesellschaft sein sollen!
